What is the new King of the World?

This blog presents a
topical issue, ironically, even while
showing concern for what exists as underlying reality; the ubiquity of
smartphones, Ipod or any other name. It is true that facilitates connection and sometimes
communication, which allow access to Internet and valuable information in real
time ( it is very useful on a disaster) and other things that used carefully
and critically, improve life; but often they have undesirable side effects.
It is a paradox.
Paradoxes are fun mind games, but sometimes they are real threats or dangers.
And while I'm talking about students, it is also a problem for executives and
employees of a company, public or private. will not be affected in that case,
the ability to learn reading or writing documents to meet academic
requirements; productivity and work capacity will be reduced and this will
affect the profitability of the company.
On the average college
it is difficult to get students to read a few pages or write documents if the
condition is prior reading some books. Reading ten pages is torture, the
wording of the document is an impossible task, but surprisingly can pass
the 25 (twenty five) hours a day using the smartphone without flinching,
undeterred, forgetting even hunger and thirst, without fatigue or boredom.
I think the education
level at universities, especially those created because the business is
profitable and not by altruism of education, not only is minimal because these
"companies" underestimate deductive quality; It is also attributable
to them since being dependent on their smartphone, they have lost the will, drive and experience to seek and accept a
quality education.
Of course there are
universities where educational quality is the goal, created by decent and visionaries leaders, who did not seek the
wild and excessive profit, but the training of professionals to help improve
their society. I was fortunate to study at a good university, in which the
passion for reading was developed from the first day of school and who had by
nature, it was easier.
If you could read fifty
pages, it was possible to spend a hundred, then five hundred. There was no
limits and no excuses, and that helped to develop itself and critical thinking.
I took with me from small viruses vocation for reading and curiosity, and never
could or wanted to get rid of them. For young people these days, it seems that
they applied a malevolent vaccine that killed these viruses. A small detail:
the University where I studied had a great and wonderful library; the "store-universities"
has a few shelves and books, they are actually parodies or caricatures of a
